Well it happened again. I got an oil change today and told the tech what happened a few months ago,and boom it happened when I left..
So the car is driving fine, and is at operating temp. I shut it off,go in a store and boom it will not start. Last time it happened,it started after it cooled down.
The car is an 87 coupe..I will add that I put a Steve Wong chip in..But did this 2 years ago.Thats it..What do you guys think.
It sounds like it wnts to start,it just wont catch,if you know what i mean....
I ended up getting towed to my house.Maybe it will start later..What should I be looking at? thanks,Joey

The DME relay (which also contains the fuel pump relay) is beneath the drivers seat and is a small retangular black box. No Carrera owner should ever be without a "good" spare unless you like to be stranded as they are the first thing to eliminate as a "cause" for what you are experiencing. Good luck!

sometimes the starter solenoid can fail when warm. this failure can come and go. recommend you inspect your starter. DME relay is also something to check, you can (I think on your car) jumper that to test it.
