I have a 1980 911 SC and want to get it repainted - freshened up. What sort of $ should i be thinking about? The base color of the car silver and it has some black and lime green paint in some areas too. I want to put it back to silver.
Thanks

Anywhere from $5000-$10,000 depending on paint, prep work, labor etc.

My friend had his early VW beetle pasinted last year (glass out) and the shop did a real nice job for $6,000

I went to a few shops and the best one told me they did not like to do them since the car would need to be dismantled due to the rubber spacers. I was only doing partial, air dam and lower body panels. It was quoted at $1500. $5-10K sounds about right.
So I did it myself. I did dismantle. Project is posted here.

Im sure MAACO can undercut that $5k quote
How good of a paint job do you want? How much prep work do "you" want done before being painted (after all, good paintwork can only be based upon great prepwork)
