My understanding is that an '80s Targa would be bought for around $35K. Thats about $75K in 2008 dollars which puts it surprisingly close to 911 prices today. I guess we could argue endlessly which would be the better deal...

NADA website lists original MRSP for classic cars like here: NADA for '84 Targa

Prices went up pretty sharply toward the end of the '80's. I believe my '89 was nearly $50k when new.

Default Don't have COA with me, but

My '84 Coupe with option 99 (interior to sample- full leather, cork) was $34,000 and change- around $34.5, I think.

This thread makes me wonder how many '80s cars are left out there that still have their original window sticker in its file. Most of those cars (a notable exception was the '89 Speedster) sold for sticker, so...

I don't have the original sheet for my '82.

1988 Carrera sticker for $52k, got it for $45k because the first car I took home, which had 2000 miles on it, had a rattle in the rear that they couldn't fix without tearing the car apart. The dealer gave us a brand new car for the price of the dealer used but never registered one. That's the car in my avatar!
