He3llo, I have a lowered 76 911 w/ carerra flares in the rear. I just saw thar my 7&8x16 fuchs have the 23mm offset and the 951 part number. I have read that these will fit the 911 with larger tires. Will the 7' work with 225's up front and 245's in the rear or do i need to use the 8" in front and find some rear 9" wheels?
Thanks,
John

As long as the fronts have +23.3 mm os 7 or 8 of either variety will work great, the only difference between the 911 and 944 is brake clearance in the back, the visual clue is the recessed lug nuts on the 8s, I never had 944 7s so don't know about them. There seems to be a lot of variability but the +23.3mm os 8s on my 76 Carrera with 225/50x16 worked fine.
In the back +10.6 mm os 8s work well, +15 mm os 9s work even better, if 225/50 is used in the front use 245/45x16 in the back. If 205/55x16 is used in the front use either 225/50x16 or 245/45x16 in the back.

The 911 and 944 7x16's have the same offset but the 944 version has more brake clearance.
The 911 and 944 8x16's have a different offset.
In general, the 944 8x16's with 225's are used up front with 9x16's with 245's in the back.

will 911 8x16 fuchs fit on the rear of a early 951 without spacers? I want to run 8's all around, I know the 911 8's wont work up front, but how about the rear? I am trying to avoid running spacers, , I have 4 951 8's , but if the 911 8's fit the rears of my 86 951 without problems, I would like to trade 2 of my 951 8"x16 fuchs for 2 911 8"x16 fuchs. I like the look of the lip on the 911 fuchs for the rear compared to the 951

In 15" wheels, porsche ran 7 and 8 x15s on both early 944s and 911s. They were the same wheel.
From this, one could think it possible to run 911 8x16s on the rear of an early 944T. However, the caveat is the rear brake caliper. As noted, the 951 8's, have a different shaped mounting surface to allow for the larger caliper. I imagine one would need a small spacer (say 5mm) to make the 911 8x16 fit in the rear.
That said, 911 9x16s fit on the rear of an early 944T and look even better! (a friend of mine runs 951 8s front and 911 9's on his '86 944T)
As to the OP, I too ran 951 7/8s on the F/R of my SC with 225/245 tires and no rubbing issues in back. Did have to roll the fender lip on the drivers front to clear the 225. My car was "track only" , thus was low and stiff. Once I found some 911 9x16s, I put the 951 8s up front, and the 9's in back with the same size tires.
