This was a response to a question I had on a stumble when I try to accelerate in second gear if the engine speed is less than 2K rpms. It works if I can do that but how is it possible when rolling up to a red light that turns green. I can't get it back into first gear while still rolling and it stumbles in second unless I slip the clutch. This can't be normal, my MR2 of the same vintage with only 200 lbs less weight and half the cc s will pull without hesitation in second and will even accelerate in third. I guess I'm asking if this is a normal condition or do you guys have any ideas where to start looking.
By the way, a big thanks to Douglas Bray for his suggestion that I check my cruise cable to solve my surging idle. It was adjusted too tight, no play, and it was an easy fix. Bob PS I am on my way to my appointment at a local shop that has a smoker tool that checks for vacuum leaks. More photos![](http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/4046/targa3wv9.th.jpg)
