I just wanted to post a link from a professional photographer's website. I'm down in townsend TN right now for the national Triumph TR6 and TR250 club meeting. I decided to bring the 911 instead of driving the Tr250 that my dad and I share. I took the opportunity to attack the tail of the dragon in my 911. I rolled my butt out of bed at about 7am to try to miss the dangerous bike and truck traffic. All I can say is wow, Very cool road! I'm still a little freaked out about all the other crazies out there though. I of course could not resist joining the crazies for one morning. I was end to end in about 15 minutes, and it was quite the rush!
the following link is the first pic of my set, scroll forward to see several more. Picture 47 of 1255 is my mom and dad in our TR250.. it is immediately following my picture.

Ice... they are pretty slow, not 56k at all.
Michael,
He did catch me on the way up as well, but I thought the pics coming back down were better.. I went up to the top, and of course had to immediately turn around and come back. By the end I was completely drenched in sweat. You are right, it was a very unique experience to share with my parents. My dad knows the way I like to drive, and was pretty relaxed (or so he says) watching me pull away. I was just glad there was someone there snapping pics. I'm probably going to try to pick out a good one of my parents to buy for them.

I found the other photographer's web site today, figured I would add this one as well. I LOVE this picture, where the rear tire meets the road, and starting to pull the front wheel off the ground. I guess its time for bigger sway bars.

2 sets.. if you go back to this guy's picture #1 I'm there too. I bought several of the files from these two photographers, and when I get them I'll embed them in the thread.

Ed, Don't get me wrong... you can NEVER have enough power and/or torque, but I was pretty surprised how well the 3.6L did pulling out of the corners. For the most part I was always between 4,000 & 6,750 in 2nd gear, with some limited 3rd gear pulls, and the very rare first gear downshifts. This car is a semi-gutted torsion bar chassis with a 3.6, so it probably should do pretty well. I want to get the thing on the scales to see what it actually weighs.

I run up Palomar Mtn pretty regularly out here, and it's almost as technical on the South Grade, although not quite as tight. There's a lot to be said for a nice twisty road. Its hard not to get a cramp in your face muscles from the huge grin.
The scenery back there and on the BRP was spectacular too.

The Highway Patrol is really policing the entire route in a big way I' hearing. My son spends a lot of time out there, as he lives in Maryville, Tn. Their goal may be to rid the place of motorcycles, but there are writing tickets for 5 over the speed limit, and anything else they can find. There are at least 3 of them working together.
