Smile God, I just LUV my 83SC!!!!

I like my 07 997 Targa, I like my restored Mercedes 68SL...both automatics. But when I get into the 83SC...I FEEL THE ROAD...it moves and it feels like it moves. Forget Prozac.....get an old Porsche and it puts a smile on your face. And FYI...I didn't even know how to drive a stick shift at the age of 48 a few months ago!

Well done Abe. There's nothing quite like it is there?
So I guess now you'll be sending the 997 to me in OZ seeing that it doesn't "Spin your gyro" anymore.

I think this says more about the transmission than the car. My 86 911 and my 07 997S are both exciting, just in different ways. The 997S is worlds ahead of the 86. Both are manuals.

The newer cars are so refined that they sort of lost the feel of the road and the overall driving experience. Don't get me wrong, the new cars are fun but just in a diffrent way, sort of getting on a old school wooden rollercoaster or a new very hi-tech coaster, both are fun but very diffrent.

I hear ya, Abe! I drive my 993 as my daily commuter. It's a stick and has Bilsteins, so it's no luxury cruiser. Love it! But my 82SC (aka Trackmeister ) is stiff, light, and connected ...like directly fused to synapses in the brain. I drive it on the street maybe 2x a month to keep her exerceised and know what you're feeling. Drove her in today ...Awesome!!!
