Default 1987-1989 AC Hose Replacement?

From reading this Forum Posts, it appears that 1987-1989 911 3.2 G50 air conditioning hoses slowly leak R-12 and they need to be entirely replaced with barrier hoses as one step in improving air conditioning performance. Is this true?

many people said yes, it's true, but the oil in there for 20 years already filled up all the pores and they do not leak that bad any more. Maybe recharge every year.
