Default Wheel question....

I just got a '79 911 SC euro with the widebody kit on it. I am getting a set of turbo twists off a twin turbo 996. the wheels are 8.5 in front and 11 in the rear. Will i need to run any spacers or anything for then to fit correctly?!?

sorry for the first post being a question i'll do an introductory post with pics this week!

You will need to run spacers front and rear.

depends on the turbo twists. Some of the replica wheels have correct early offsets. if they are Porsche wheels with the later offsets then you will probably need a one inch spacer in the front and 1 1/2 in the rear.

Well for the front - you really should be in the mid to high 20's offset. So if the front wheels have an offset of 50 - then I would look for some 22mm spacers for the front that would bring you down to 28mm realized offset That's about .866 inches

For the rear - you want to be around 10mm positive offset - so if you have the same 50mm ET wheel - you would be looking for a 40mm spacer - 40mm = 1.574 inches

So approximately an inch and an inch and a half.

I hope you like them. I put 996 wheels on my 3.2. For 24hours 'til I took them off and sold them. Fuchs are the only way to go IMO. But if it's to your taste then enjoy.

i have always loved the twist's.. I feel that throwing modern wheels on these older 911's really update the look of the car. but to each there own!

thanks again for the spacer help!
