Hi there,
I've just bought some turbo tie rods to upgrade my 69 911E that has worn ball joints. However, I have come across a problem; the tapered pin on the turbo tie rod is too big to fit in the tapered hole in the stub axle. The threaded part, which is considerably larger that the threaed part of the old ball joint will fit through, but the tapered bit is just a touch too big. I understood the turbo tie rod will fit 69-73 911's. I'm wondering if my car perhaps has earlier stub axles with smaller holes. Can anyone tell me if this is the case with earlier cars?
Thanks in advance
Adam
