Default '69 911 with 2.7 - best muffler?

Hello and thanks for having me.

I need to know what is the best muffler for increased performance.

My engine:
2.4 case with 2.7 RS p/c
Webers
2.4 heads with "S" valves and intake ports have been opened up to "S" specs
Solex cams
RS headers without heat exchangers

The mufflers that interest me are:

1) RS Sport muffler two in two out
2) Two muffled megaphones
3) The Y pipe stingers with two small mufflers at the header collector. This system looks to be very light weight but what concerns me is that the mufflers are VERY close to the lower valve cover and the heat could/can cause damage by over heating the oil?

What "looks" best to me is the original two in one out stock muffler. I would like to use this muffler but I would not what to choke or rob my engine of its potential power.
Any help is much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum

where are you located?

i'd highly recommend a Monty (see signature) which are available in any configuration you want (i.e 2 in 1 out, 2 out, or RSR style 2 out). not a lot of difference performance wise but the 2 outs tend to drone a bit at lower rpms no matter which brand. they are made in Aus, and not the cheapest muffler given the state of the $US, but you get what you pay for

i dont know if options 2 & 3 above will meet noise limits. the M&K track mufflers sound sick but are loud

if you do a search you will get many more opinions

Thanks for the welcome and info JV.

I'm in foggy San Francisco.

I'll do some research on the "Monty"
Given the state of the USD is why many years ago I purchased CD's in pounds sterling and Aus dollars.

I have a 2 in 1 out M&K. I have no idea what it does for performance, but it is really really light and it sounds sweet.
