Who's 959
Never posted over here, so don't bash me if this car has been discussed here before, but who's car is it?

I, for one, can't understand why one would take an immensely popular, extremely rare, often cherished car like a 959, and replace 450 reliable ponies with a 700+ hp hand grenade. And then add a roll cage to make it all but impossible to take your significant other to dinner in. And then, never drive it. Looking at the car it does appear that it's all original and darned near perfect. To me, doing this project, high quality or not, is about as silly as putting a 911 engine in a perfect '58 Speedster, or putting Turbo flares on a 911R.

If you are going to mod a 959, then at least know what the car was built for - Gruppe B rally racing - and mod/use accordingly. And 2100mi since 1987 is stupid and not good for the engine. Maybe with the massive rebuild that doesn't matter though.
There is a reason why Porsche tracks only its RWD cars.

You would think that having spent $250,000 in upgrades the guy would have put an original 930S steering wheel rather than the cheaper aftermarket version. Not that I would turn the car down, just saying.

"All upgrades done by Canepa Design, one of the very best."
Right! Total Mickey Mouse!
That's not the only 959 he converted and ruined it's classic value,
e.g. Removed the Bosch Motronic system and used a Motec system
because of a lack of competence about Motronic and emissions control.
The Good News: More value for the cars NOT touched by Canepa!
