Who's 959

Well, look who's back. There's now a black cloud over Rennlist. The orginal "pissed-off-at-the-world spewer of hate"!
Let me guess? Canepa wouldn't give you any of his business, and now he and his team know nothing about the cars they keep on the track?

I have an opportunity to buy an all original 73 Carrera RS from a neighbor of mine. The original owner was my neighbor and he passed away. The car has been sitting for twenty years and is in great original condition. When I get the car I plan rebuilding the engine and swapping out the MFI for something more modern. I'll swap out the cams to something a little hotter. I plan on really working the heads. Maybe I'll increase the compression too. I need 300 hp no less. After all that's done I'll put in a roll cage. Do you think these mods. will effect the value of the car?*

I, for one, can't understand why one would take an immensely popular, extremely rare, often cherished car like a 959, and replace 450 reliable ponies with a 700+ hp hand grenade. And then add a roll cage to make it all but impossible to take your significant other to dinner in. And then, never drive it. Looking at the car it does appear that it's all original and darned near perfect. To me, doing this project, high quality or not, is about as silly as putting a 911 engine in a perfect '58 Speedster, or putting Turbo flares on a 911R.

Have to love it! Right on.
But for the naive on this thread, they're (he's) still scratching their/(his) head about the issue.
Typical of some:
"Like, if I can read "101 Projects for Your Porsche 911" and rebuild my 911 engine,
I must know everything about all Porsches and who's really competent, right?"
"And we cool too, cuz we drive the twisties."
Have to love it! Right on.

I've never read 101 projects, so I don't know what you're after there.
Yes, I have rebuilt my engine, so what's your point?
I've never professed to know everything about Porsches.
Cool? I'm not sure about that, but I'm pretty proficient at it. Maybe the fact I spent some time on the tracks in Texas and went into that with an open mind and not being a know-it-all (like you) taught me something.
Now, go spew your venom somewhere else. Better yet, why not go on a journey to find the colony of mutants that would actually enjoy your participation and may possibly respect you. That would, in and of itself, ensure that you'd not be here to bother anyone.
Oh, and by the way, I'm glad to see you've done your homework on me. Go away, you stalker.
