Greetings, I am new to the forum and wanted to start off by following protocol with an intro and pics!
This is my second Porsche. I stumbled across it one weekend locally and it was the right car at the right time for me. I had been waiting and plotting, as the value of my 914 climbed, to cash in and jump to an SC or Carrera. It's a local car, not flawless, but solid.
Here are some pics from a few months ago up on our local volcano. ( I did take care of that bad paint on the rear wheels already, just no new pics of it.......)

Thanks for the welcome, everyone.
It's an '84. The VIN ends in 0082, so I guess it was a pretty early one that arrived over here in late 1983. Grand Prix White exterior with Dark Brown interior. 140,000 miles and mostly original - for better AND worse. The previous owner drove it regularly for 17 years and took good care of it, but did avoid major overhaul work. Hence, the price was good. It has been running good for the past 4 months and I plan to chip away at it. I am saving up for a suspension overhaul ASAP.
After a lifetime of dreaming of 911 ownership, I still can't really believe I drive this car every day.

I have had the same dream as well and I feel the same way.
BTW, these cars love being driven so don't be afraid to drive it all the time.

I just got my 88 a few weeks ago and like you (actually, GP white, like yours), I can't believe it's MY CAR, in my garage, right there for me to drive every day! Awesome, huh?

Hi Techne and welcome.
That's a great shot of your car centered under the white mountain peak.
It it a non-sunroof car?
I visited Portland a couple of years ago.
Is that Mt. Ranier in the background?
cheers

Ian,
The car does have a sunroof - but I see what you mean - you can't see it in the pics. It was hard to get good exposure with the snow around and white paint that day.
The peak is Mt. Hood. A bit shorter than Rainier, but just 1.5 hours from town. My car was actually used for ski trips on that very mountain by the previous owner, it turns out! When I stopped by to pick up a few things after I bought the car, he gave me a backpack with chains for the car. I was stunned speechless - and a little scared at what I may have bought!![EEK!](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
But then I remembered that my step-dad and I used to go skiing in his 356 with big fat studded tires on the back when I was quite young. I figure it's kind of a Porsche thing to be able to do it all if you need to! At least the chains solved the mystery of the failed paint on the rear wheels only.

Hopefully there is not a lot of salt used around there....but if one needs to use chains that usually means there is no salt on the roads. That is the one thing that worries me about winter up here.
Either way I think you got a great buy and should have a wonderful time with the car.
