Okay, it's not really. Old man neri called me out for posting to another topic without a proper introduction.
I've been a lurker here and at Pelican since about Nov 07, when I first got wind of the 911 deal of a lifetime. My beloved wife's father offered to sell me his 911SC - hellblau over tan interior, 1 owner (him), 65k on the clock, garage kept. He wasn't driving it, obviously, and was tired of maneuvering around it in his garage. I had to reluctantly decline, as I couldn't pay what it was worth AND pay what it took to keep it running - even the comparitively cheap SC. And then he said, "How about I sell it to her for cheap, for Christmas?"
At that price? Uh, yeah. I mean, "Yes sir, we'll take that, thankyouverymuch."
So, here it is. So far I've spent about $3k in shoes (Rota Fox RSR finish/Kumho SPT), minor repairs, new radio, etc.
For me it's a daily driver, and set up as such. It's low enough, fast enough, and beautiful enough for me. A few door dings and chips, but otherwise pretty awesome, I think.
If anyone's interested, I can post pictures of the wheels, Alpine ipod radio install, component speakers, false floor with amplifier install, subwoofer under driver seat, etc. Just let me know.

That's a stunning looking car. Welcome friend! Great story about how you scored that beauty. I was not so lucky.
How are you liking the Kuhmo STPs? A track instructor friend of mine said they were probably the best bang for your buck tires out there.

This is at least the fourth set of Kumho tires that I've had - 96 Accord, 02 Passat, 95 Miata. I've always been impressed at the quality of tire you get for the money. Even as a mechanical engineer, I'm not enough of a technician to know what I'm missing, if there is anything to miss. The rocks that were on the car when I got it were easily 10 years old, so these tires were the best thing ever when I installed them.
I've never driven on a track, so I have only street miles under my fanny on them. But there they handle great, are quiet, and you can afford to drive them to stumps frequently without having to pawn anything to replace them. If you were in the area, you'd be welcome to try them out, and form your own opinion.
But for the price, why not give 'em a go! If you don't like them, you can use them for drifting or some nonsense.

Hi machnerd, I'm a newcomer too and just getting along here, but welcome.
Been lurking here for sometime as well almost to the point of obsession - I suffer from a need for too much information I reckon. (this loc is awesome for info/help)
Beautiful car sir.

Wow, how did you resist the temptation to post pictures of that beauty? Very nice. Welcome and beware, there are lots of really great people here with much wisdom and good humor. Don't spend more time on the board than behind the wheel.

Thanks all for the kind welcome!
It is comforting to know that there's so much wisdom on tap out there to keep these old beauties running. And where there's no wisdom, there's plenty of opinion - which may not always be helpful, but is ALWAYS entertaining...
This being my first p-car, I've taken quite a few photos. I'll try to gather those up and share with people interested. I think it is a gorgeous car, and while not a "rare" color, it is uncommon enough, and looks great in contrast with the matte silver wheel finish. Don't know why more weren't ordered with the hellblau!
Per diamondcarrera's request, I'll post some pics of the stereo/amp/subwoofer install on a separate thread, though probably not immediately. I'm supposed to be studying! It does involve some serious use of .125" diamond-tread aluminum and 1/2" MDF, so it's not light weight. If nothing else, it will afford the "NO STEREO!" crowd something to shout about.

Hi Joel,
Welcome aboard! Indeed, great story ...I love the part when he sells it "to her" for Christmas and it ends up being your daily driver. Now that's some nice work, friend! And great color ...one of my favorite SC colors. Congrats!!
