On the bottom, on the left side of where it says "sachs". Below is a pic of spring disk and damage to it.
Its pretty rusted, I guess from lack of driving from PO.

I would love to see a receipt for that clutch job! Why is the TOB guide tube inside the TOB? Is the guide tube/TOB the wrong combo, and that's what caused the PP to break? Wow, something's really funny with this whole deal... I wonder if the flywheel was machined, possibly too deep, and that strained everything... I would also like to see the PP fingers without the TOB stuck in there...

Like I already posted, it's your problem, but it's not your fault.

I am no expert , but that sure as hell does not look like a 20,000 mile old clutch. I think someone lied to you, or they really botched the work.

Well, I dont think they lied. It was stamped in service manual and signed by a porsche dealer when it was replaced@48k.
Pete, the flywheel was def. the original and couldn't be cut any further this time around. My wrench said it might have cracked because of rust. He was as baffled as you are, couldn't explain how it cracked.
How do you explain the rusty PP? Is it from lack of driving? East coast car always garaged.
Where is the TOB guide tube supposed to be?

I ordered a Sachs kit from Pelican with a new flywheel, so i

sorry didnt finish....so I no everything is new. BTW my wrench couldn't even match pelicans prices, he said those prices are pretty much wholesale(for the clutch kit that is)

Isn't a clutch job on a g50 cut and paste? How can a pro. screw it up?

It's certainly not cut and paste. The throw out bearing and guide tube are important - they are matched with extra clearance so no grease is needed. Of course, the throw out bearing fork update is also important, and must be done with the correct update parts.

I really don't understand why a dealer would use a spring hub disc - that is really wrong given the owner circumstance. Also, the flywheel should not have been machined, which is not allowed on a hydraulic clutch.

I have seen cracked diaphragm springs before, but usually on very high mileage cars and never on a G 50. There is one possibility; the dealer "mechanic" might have installed the pressure plate using an impact wrench (instead of the recommended hand-tighten procedure), which would have weakened the diaphragm from the outset.

Pete,

My wrench put the TOB guide tube inside the TOB, no reason, he just trew it in. I called to ask him about it after your above post, he laughed..!
I used a spring centered disk, I hope this is ok!

Sure, that's fine - as long as you read the "Gear Rattle" thread...
