Default Price of replacement Starter Motor?

What does a reconditioned starter go for?

I bought one ages ago for my car (964) but received an earlier one for 73-89 cars. I looked on Pelican and they were $175 but there was a core charge bringing the price to $325.

I've three times now placed this on Ebay for $100 but no one seems at all interested. Am I missing something? Are they available cheaply from somewhere?

I stupidly thought I'd got a deal when I bought it. When I realized it was the wrong part I thought it would be an easy thing to put back for sale...

well I guess it is about the timing, if someone needs one they will pay i guess. Some people are going to high torque after market starters due to isses with Bosch rebuilds.

I guess it must be. I rarely ever sell stuff on ebay...only buy.

Seemed like something that would be in demand to me though as Ive placed competing bids on more obscure parts before.

Take it to a shop that does alternator, generator overhauls. They will fix it up for $75-100. These are not rocket science.

This morning I put the part number (91160410101) into Pelican, I am guessing this would be for a new vs. reconditioned, and it came up as $890!!! Is that for real?

Well the auction I placed still got no bids 5 days later, go figure...

Its still at $100 if anyone wants this. It looks like new. Auction ends in 2 hours, shipping is $10.

If this is a reman Bosch SR68X starter, they go for $141.99 + $30.00 core charge at Murray's Discount Auto. With that you get a two year warranty.

If this is the part that you have, shoot me a pm and we might be able to work something out.

Thanks,

Tom
