There is a very nice looking Red 1980 911SC for sell here in town. It has 93K miles on it and looks immaculate inside and out.
It has new Break Rotors, New Bilstein shocks, New 'bearings' or something. How much would one expect to pay for such a car?

I paid 12.3K for a 80 SC immac body/paint, interior. Had a few mechanicals that cost ME (doing my own work) about 400$ (W-bearings all around, struts (rear) + oil ret tubes. SO I would say 12-14K

Oh PS: mine had 53K miles, I'm third owner.
I would ask how long the owner has had the car, if a year or two not a good sign. Check receipts etc, get a good inspection from a porshe mechanic. Then the fun begins!

One data point is the Kelly Blue Book (www.kbb.com) private party values (eliminates some retail markup). They only go back to 1981, but for an excellent condition 1981 911 with 93K miles, using my CT zipcode, the value is $9,650. If this were a retail sale, the retail from a dealer would be $11,725 (again for a 1981. A 1980 would be less).
The KBB definition is:
"Excellent" condition means that the vehicle looks great, is in excellent mechanical condition and needs no reconditioning. It should pass a smog inspection. The engine compartment should be clean, with no fluid leaks. The paint is glossy and the body and interior are free of any wear or visible defects. There is no rust. The tires are the proper size and match and are new or nearly new. A clean title history. This is an exceptional vehicle.

Check for documentation of a clutch replacement. Probably would have to be done by 93K but you never know. SCs were built with a rubber centered clutch prone to early failure.
Cost of clutch could be 10% of what you pay for the car.
