Tire pressure recommendation

Hi folks,
I was wondering if you have recommendatios on what tire pressures I should be running on the street. The car is a stock '87 Carrera, BFG Radial Traction TA's all around, 225-15 rear and 205-15 front. Currently I am at 28 psi front, 30 psi rear which may very well be completely wrong (I'm usually on my Ducati and not well versed on 911 tires). All input is greatly appreciated.

The manual calls for 35 or 36 at the rear, 29 at the front, IIRC. I used to run about 29/35 on the street when I had street tires. I'd bump it a point up front, and run at least 35psi at the rear.
It depends on your driving style and conditions when it comes down to it. If you were doing a bunch of slower speed really tight corners in the mountains, you'd maybe want a little more pressure in the front, as you may get some understeer with stock pressures in those conditions. but 29/35-36 is a good overall setting.

Agreed, 29F/36R cold is the factory recommended pressure for your car, but playing with them for personal preference is never a bad idea. Factory pressure for my '82 SC is 29F/34R, but I prefer (and can tell the difference) 31F/35R - Bridgestone RE 750s... I do not like to feel the tires scrubbing in corners, the slightly higher pressures get the car up on its toes.

Porsche actually had the big spread between front and rear pressures to overcome some of the trailing throttle oversteer "issues". That is, they dumbed the car down up front to compensate for the greater weight at the rear. A bit more PSI up front actually will give a bit more grip. Of course, the extreme end of having an over-filled tire in front will slip too much.

I run 31/34 on the street with my MPSC's.
When at the track, I start at 26/28 cold, then bleed thru the day to keep my pressures at the end of a session at about 36psi.
