Thanks for the input everyone. I think the 8500 will serve me fine. My only concerned is with long highway trips. I am looking into some laser protection though. There are some films out there to cover headlights and license plate to severely decrease the bounced laser signal - and give the driver a chance of hearing the detector hit and slowing before a laser lock. Seems beneficial, but I'm still reading up on it.

Many interesting sites out there on detection........be sure to digest some of the testing being done presently....I, too, am looking for a good jamming system to install.....
