Post Any Tips for Faded Convertible Top?

The black convertible top on my '91 C2 is looking somewhat faded, but is otherwise in excellent condition. Are there any treatments to restore some of the color to the top? I've seen Raggtopp cleaner and protectant advertised, but I don't think that these will make the top darker. As crazy as it sounds, I've even thought about dyeing it black, using permanent clothing dye. Does anyone have any suggestions (other than replacing it with a new top)?

black shoe dye from safeway, with the sponge applicator. use a larger sponge. works great on leather seats too.

On an Alfa I previously owned I used india ink applied with a small paint roller. The car was mostly garaged but the color lasted several years.

Good Luck
