Spark plug wires.

Okay, so lately my car seems be not as much of a rocket as it use to. I looked at the spark plug wires (which I have never replaced) and some of the boots are starting to crack so I am assuming it might be time to replace them and it may be the reason why the car is not feeling as good. Am I wrong here?
After reading multiple threads on the subject it is apparent that magnacor 8.0mm wires are the best to get. Where are some places that I can get them? And don't bother saying 'apex' because I just called them and they won't ship up here, I don't have a clue why.
Thanks!

I got my wires at Performance. I would look at the distributor and rotor as well. they are all wear items. I could be wrong, but I think going with stock specs is still a great wire. When I started in on the restoration items on my car I started with the three above and wow, what a change. Then the plugs, and air filter. it all helped make the car drivable...

douglas is correct, there are a number of things that can contribute to a lackluster feeling - most are related to the 15K mile service schedule (such as the cap & rotor, etc.). Is your car getting close to its 15K, or are there a lot of miles before it's due? I don't want to talk you out of wires, but I don't think that what you found makes it a necessary replacement. I would look at the fuel mixture first, many 3.2 cars have had their air flow meter replaced because of a rich running condition, which can create a sluggish feeling car.

Well the plugs, rotor, cap, filters...etc where all replaced about 8K ago and a lot of the miles since then have been highway. The only thing I never replaced is the wires and I can't find a date on them.
As for the mixture...I have no idea. Can any shop do that or do they have to be familiar with the 3.2? I ask because ever since I came to this province that is mostly filled with retarded hicks I have only ever seen one porsche....and it was a boxster. Should I just take my bently to a local shop with the right equipment and do the work with the mechanic?

Checking/setting the CO% (mixture) in your car is a bit of a process, and a good manual should outline the job step by step. You will need an accurate CO machine and an Allen socket to use in the air flow meter should adjustment be necessary. Here's a thought, is their a chapter of PCA (Porsches Cost Alot - no - make that Porsche Club of America) near you, perhaps someone who can provide a referral?

In your tune up 8k miles ago, you didn't mention valve adjustment. My car was feeling weak too, and it was 10k since my last service so I did everything including popping off the valve covers and adjusting all 12 valves. Huge difference. Engine is much quieter, no more idling problems, and the engine just wants to fly to 6000 RPM without a hiccup. Could that be the problem?

Ya, still in Manitoba Clive.
I will look up the PCA and see if they have any recommendations near Winnipeg.

Edit: after searching the archives I found a few recommendations for independent shops in Winnipeg. I will probably make the drive sometime tomorrow.

I replaced my 23 year old plug wires last year with new Jacobs wires. Zero change in performance.
My father has tractors that have 40 year old plug wires on them and they fire right up in all conditions. Cap and rotor replacement is much more critical it seems if you are freshening up ignition pieces.
