In this case, your moderators did not shut it down. The originator of the thread decided to close it, as it was diverging from the original intent of the discussion.

Thanks Bill - and you are correct... The person that started the thread closed it off - and I fully agree with that individuals decision. When a simple thread turns into a "Flame War", then it's time to take a deep breath and wonder what the posts are all about....

Frankly - I respect the originator of the thread that he decided pulled it- IMNSHO. If you want to complain - please email me directly at admin@rennlist.com and we can discuss it at your leisure.

Thanks...

gee, guys... with a little adult supervision around here we may end up talking mostly about Porsche 911 issues again - imagine that!

Actually, I was only trying to learn a little more about the "monster". It struck me today that the simple fact that George was able to get a SB Chevy into a 911 chassis is quite interesting. Even more interesting is how he fabricated a transaxle to fit onto that engine. Is it just me, or does that seem to take some serious engineering? Thought it would be interesting to see. Thanks for the updates.

I don't know how the originator felt that the post had gotten off track since it began with a blatant challenge to George and statements like "I built the car to shut people up" and "if it weren't for guys like George guys like me wouldn't have anybody to beat on." So if there was a purpose other than to state that he was ready to "lay the smack down" on George I missed it. At first I thought it was honorable but now I think the whole escrow thing was BS and a way to back out. I think he made some phone calls and found out that next to the Swamp Monster he might look like the Cookie Monster, got (real) cold feet and started looking for a way out without having the pride of Imagine Auto being slapped around

If there was any reason to pull anything IMHO it should have been (only) the posts with threats, but that was allowed to go on there and on the 928 board. I like to cut up as much as anyone, and appreciate the moderators allowing the fun to go on pretty much uninterrupted. However allowing individuals to post (however thinly veiled) threats gets far away from the information exchange and entertainment that the board is.

George and all....
This will be my only and last post to this subject...I offered the challenge. It is my party and I asked you to join. You don't get to choose what kind of cake to have at my party. As I explained if you don't like the escrow thing fine..Your Choice, however leave it at that. I asked you to come play like you play by your rules this would be done by mine. I am not interested in wrapping 5K around a bear can in the middle of the street. I am not 18 any more nor do I want to be. I checked around and we know you are real...No disrespect there, however my challenge still stands as I originally posted. In God we trust, well not with my money. It's on a strip, contracts signed, and money held by a professionals bonded third party and escrowed. Sorry that is how I play when there is that much cash on the line. If people don't understand that then that's ok. This has gotten way out of hand and for those of you that do know me know that I am pretty easy going. I talked to George for a while and it was a little rocky at first but we then had a pretty good conversion. No one is yellow here as previously stated just not in agreement of how it should be run. Remember I asked the Swamp Monster to come play with Monster. When four letter words and threats are introduced we have lost sight of what this was about. It was for fun and a some cash...The deal still stands, but you are invited to play by my invention and my rules...My invite..No ill feelings here guys this is simple and meant to be a good time...everyone needs to take a deep breath and relax...

Carlos that you should now whine about thinly veiled threats is absurd. Let's recap. A few days ago you came out of the blue into a thread that was commenting on a 928. A person of middle eastern descent (judging by his name) had not such nice things to say about the kind of guy Abby might be for putting a Jacquemond kit on his 928. Indeed those comments were in bad taste but the insult was really just an accusation of wearing gold chains and an open silk shirt maybe. You come blasting in with blatant racist/religiously insulting postings. Now that there are consequences, you sit there sniveling like a 2 pound baby. Now, I'm not Muslim or Afghani or middle eastern or whatever, I'm simply the guy calling you to the floor to stand up and convey these feelings in person. Amir is a seventeen year old kid, but I am a man. I can be as racist as the next guy but I'll do it face to face. I have not forgotten about George but he went back to the subject of his car (and racing) but for the most part stands his ground. I have little doubt that he'd express himself to me personally. You however punked out, and after all the racist threats, and name calling, is unforgiveable. You even snivel in your sleep.

Stand up and be a man. The more you snivel the more this won't go away. Hey, I think I can quote from a commercial I saw, ( you like this quoting from tv/movie stuff) The Santa commercial where he lines up against his elves and says, "I'm comin for you porkchop." and you say, "bring it on, fatboy", cept, heheh, I ain't fat.

i think the reason everyones getting a little excited is because due to george's past history and posts over time they want to see him eat a little of that "party cake" .. i cant speak for everyone but thats just my 2 cents! for all of us who dont have porsches that can hang with his V8, we're glad someone does!

I'm closing this thread. As they said in Star Wars, episode 4, just before the cantina scene, "Move along....move along".
