Tire Edge Shredding
I was playing cloverleaf warrior this evening and found the outer edge of the LF tire showed some shredding. I run them with 45 psi . Tire is still up and it looks like a minor problem. I guess I’m at the limit for lateral G. Has anyone else had this occur.

Any Pics?
Whoa, are you at your limit in PSIper manufactuer? Remember when you drive and brake temp goes up and exceeds 45PSI.
I keep my Goodyear F1's fronts at 39 PSI & rears at 41 PSI per my wheel straightener guy.

My front Toyos I keep at 29 PSI. I had them swapped left to right, right to left, at Big O this weekend and they gave them back to me at 40 PSI. I could have killed! They looked like bicycle tires, not nice flat street tires. I don't care what the max is, your car doesn't weigh anything so you don't need a lot of preshure.

Its a theory... Did porsche recommend it? what do they state in their manual. They created the car... tested it at all the limits... Does ferarri recommend it? Does any modern sports car recommend it? How about corvette? I am not an expert... but if Porsche recommends 30 ish on PSI... I would not put it at 45 psi based on some theory... Have you ever had a tire seperate from the wheel? a good tire? maybe a Goodyear F1? or Pirelli P Zero? Doubt it... Just my humble opinion...

I'm not so sure that your "theory" is one I'd subscribe to. If the person who gave you that theory gave you any more, give them back.
You'll find nobody at the track running ANY tire at that kind of pressure. There is no way that your tires are performing at anywhere near their optimum. The MAX pressure rating is for safety purposes, that does not imply you should be running anywhere near that temp. I run my MPSC's at 27F-28R to keep the temps below 36 when I'm at the end of a track session. On the street, I'm at 31/35 usually.
If you're shredding the outer edge as you describe, you have a camber issue. You need negative camber to start with so that when you load up the outer front tire in a corner, it isn't laying down on its face, or over-working the outer edge. Your over-pressure on your tires just exacerbated the issue.
Pretty expensive testing, IMO. A suggestion: You have access to Hallett, Eagles Canyon and MSR. Get to a PCA DE weekend. You'll have the opportunity to learn how to drive a 911, and you'll have the benefit of countless years of experience on things like tire pressures, alignment, etc to draw from. That, and you'll have a smile pasted on your face for weeks.

I once attempted to pump my tires up to 4500psi but was killed in the process. Now I haunt this forum looking for those with an over inflated sense of purpose!
(Sorry, I'm bored)

He said LF tire is hosed in the first post.
It could be toe also, I meant to add that to the list. I was thinking to myself as I was typing how screwy it would feel to drive on tires inflated to 45psi.

drop that set of tires to a resonable preshure and it's gonna be like driving the Jamaican bobsled.
NOw, now, let's not dog pile the new guy too bad. He did have the guts to post and he is getting good advice and he does have a cloverleaf to play on. (Just don't try to eat at a west bound Mc D's while on the east bound tole road.)

That is one strange state.

Okay boys the manufactures recommended maximum pressure cold is 50. Setting the cold pressure at 45 is well within that recommendation. Giving up ride quality for grip by setting the tire pressure up has been a street racer trick for ever. I’ve done a lot of serious driving with the typical overweight nose heavy softly sprung American car and not had this occur. Car tracks well down the road without pulling to one side or the other. Tire wear has been even and balance is good.
