Post Starter Relay Upgrade

With a new hi torque aftermarket starter, how necessary is the starter relay kit? Does it keep the solenoid from frying?

Chris..don't want to say it's necessary..many answers to this one..but, IMO, the wild electrical path to the starter sol leaves many vulnerable areas..and if you have a starter kill on an after market alarm system, the kill relay attached wires are probably smaller in diameter than the major yellow wire..so, not for nothing, but the Tilton starter on my 911 will see a 75amp Bosch relay..had problems in high desert heat on big roads stopping for fuel..yeah I know I could re-clean all wire connections leading to the starter sol. so this is only an opnion........Ron
