Hiya guys,
Ive recently been bitten by the 911 bug again... passively looking for a 78-83 car.
What are the major differences between the Euro and US 911 SC's? Ive driven both, but aside from RoW power (and emissions headaches) and a lower ride hight, what are the major differences? Im pretty set on what Im looking for, Im just trying to iron out a few things so I can go start seriously looking and add another excuse for "her" to give me "the look" into the garage.
Thanks!

You may want to read the recent thread about Nikasil versus Alusil cylinders - it seems like many of the US spec cars were fitted with the supposedly inferior alusil items. I would not mind betting that ALL the early California spec SC's were so equipped.
I have one and it is OK but you may want to avoid a car that has them.

I have a RoW 1981 911SC and it's been great. I suppose if you need to meet emissions regulations, it may be tough, since the cars don't have oxygen sensors (and mine doesn't have a cat). Otherwise, the cars have more horsepower, are lighter, and tend to cost less. Another nice thing about mine is that it is a coupe without a sunroof - a very difficult option to find in US cars. I like the extra headroom - I'm 6'4".
