Default 79 SC Fuel Pump Check Valve Part # ?

Hopefully this is the final chapter in the weird gurgling/percolating sound saga. I took off the belly pan today and ran the car. At first, I thought I squashed the fuel line with the steering rack when I put in the spacers for the 930 tie rod ends. Nope lines okay, but the pump check valve is the culprit, making all sort of clicking and the percolation. And every time it clicked it would cause a sputter in the idle.
Unfortunately neither my local Porsche dealer or Pelican lists a check valve for a 78-79. But golly, guess what? My "wednesday car" has one. It's even attached to the Bosch fuel pump that I just replaced. Anybody know if it's the same as a '77 or is it like the '80-83 listed. I actually ordered the "connector" for a '78-79 from Pelican but it is just a slightly stubbier fitting that goes in the same place with no check valve and the wrong size threads as an added bonus!

Lifes' little pleasures.

Anybody got any dope on this?

Take it easy folks.

I found the only solution was a new pump, which includes the check valve. I would bet that was the problem anyway, not the check valve.

well if he prdered the pump form a 78 - 79 i belive it would have no check valve, therefore elliminating the problem alltogether.. i don't think the check valve came in till later .. so he may already have a system from a later car.

Weird

Yeah, I already replaced the pump, a Bosch, and it didn't come with a check valve.
Hopefully taking it off and taking it to the dealer today.

Jd i think the earlier cars had a different fuel accumulator also. Not that it is relevant but thouhght I would mention it out of interest. Mine is a 78 , no check valve, early accumulator , no probs. I do hear gurgling occasionally , but i thing for me it is the oil running thriugh the cooler..
not a big deal over the engine roar.

Strange, mine does have a check valve on it presently and has forever as far as I know, I was gonna replace it when I replaced the pump until I saw no part listing. I went ahead and ordered an '80-83 check valve. Hopefully we'll see an improvement when I put it on.

Hmmm, seems like mine has some kind of second banjo fitting that's capped on the line just aft the main banjo on the pump. Anyone else?

Always something weird.

I'm so bummed, I got the new check valve, just like the one in it and everything. But just for kicks, I disemboweled my existing check valve. The pump must have a check valve of it's own since gas wasn't gushing out of the up flow side of the pump. I melted all of the plastic out with a torch and then cleaned it thoroughly and reinstalled it. It's still making the funky sound around there though. I'm stumped and bummed for now and not getting to enjoy my 911 in the good weather.
