Doesn't this bring back memories.......WOT at the top of 4th gear "test driving" a customer's car about 20 years ago. He was glad I found it and fixed it; but I'm not sure I really told him how I found out.

Mine stuck today when I fired it up after doing most of my 60k service but I think I may have gummed up the throttle linkage by the tranny while I was under there cleaning off a lot of years of gunk before I pull the tranny plugs. The cruise control linkage looks just fine so that's not my problem (yet) but I'll throw some zip ties in the spares kit just in case.

I induced mine recently after doing some work on the AFM, etc.,..ends up being the air intake boot's retaining ring's screw (physically) interfering with the throttle...I just twisted it further around and out of the way...no more binding. Scared the sheit out of me when the pedal stayed to the floor in fourth gear!!!!!! Had to kill via ignition switch...holy cow!!!! Luckily, that's all it ended up being.
....definately gets your attention.......looking for the problem on the side of the road, with the heart racing at about 180 BPM.....
Best,

Don't snip, just unscrew the mount from the throttle "arm". There are two tiny Phillips screws that attach the end of the cruise cable to the throttle. You come in to them from the LH side. If you don't have one, get a close work-ratcheting-right angle screw driver, they're only a couple of bucks at HF. It makes it a 2 minute job to remove the cable from the throttle.

After seeing the diagram of how the cable is purchased from Pelican, yeah, I can see that it's a case of remove from the throttle body. I just figured most cables leave the hardware on the engine, etc., and it's JUST a cable... kind of like the clutch cable holding block that's mounted to the transaxle...
Anyway, the zip tie is holding well so far, now I just gotta get my tach back from North Hollywood Speedo. They're rebuilding, and doing a little custom work to it while they have it. Having them rotate the guts & redo the face so 6,000 is north, but retaining the stock left / right locations on the indicator lights.
Yes, I will post pics.
