Default Ordering shocks, quick question:

I'm about to order 4 new Bilstiens, my questions is what other misc parts should I order to replace the shocks, such as new lock nuts and such?

Many thanks!

Before you go any further call Steve Weiner at Rennsport. He can help you far better than anyone else here. He transformed my car for almost nothing. Remember that there are several levels of performance with bilsteins. IE: HD, sport, etc.

also you need the special bilstein tool to put them in . and tighten the nut.
if oyu are going to do the fronts with the stut assemby still in the car i would say it is an excellent opportunity to do the brake lines. As you will stress them swinging the asemby from under the fender. Why not take em off and replac them .
I found the shocks quite easy actually and did not need anything special.

You need a torque wrench that exceeds 90 lb/ft, you will get the tool for your strut inserts packed with the inserts, and everything else should be OK. I recommend the use of HD Bilsteins, rather than their Sport option, on cars still equipped with stock torsion bars, regardless of ride height. Have fun!

All my brakes and lines are brand-spanking new so the lines are OK, but I think I'll remove the strut assembly and do the ball joint and control arm bushings while I'm in there. Do it right once and never go back I guess...

Pete I never got the tool with mine and I have heard that from others too.. might be a good thing to specify when ordering.
Good call on the torque wrench , i thought hey were like cutlery and everyone had one :-)

i have the sports but will admit .. it is NOT a daily driver.... but it is quite good
