Put it in with engine in and no engine drop.
i just removed the blower.
I put glue on the back bottom half first, this way I did not have to have a huge, gluesoaked thing to handle.
Once I glued the back. I put glue on the top part and stuck that in place. Simple. Start to finish in under an hour.
And it is barely more quiet with it in, but it does look a lot cleaner.

I pulled mine out today. It had mostly collapsed and whenever I knocked it while working in there I got bits of foam all over the place. I'll see how it sounds without it (I enjoy listening to the motor) and then decide whether or not to replace it. Last post makes it sound doable though.

I took mine out last week. It had more or less collapsed completely already so there was no sound difference. I just didn't like having that sound pad resting on the intake and what not, what if it broke apart further?
I have no plans to replace it. The only down side is there is a bit of yellow glue left.

I did, planning to paint the firewall later but hnever had the time yet. To me, it still look better then damage/sag/ugly pad. You can hear more noise in the cabin though.
