Anyone know where there is a 904 four bagner for sale? Thats right, a twin cam. Why is it called a twin cam when it has four cams?, or am I still in the dark and not understanding? Please advise

2 cams per bank. Same as calling the new engines a DOHC - it's 2x cams x 2x heads. Olds tried foolin' us calling some of their mini engines "quad-4's".

The 911 is a single overhead cam engine (one cam for both intake & exhaust per bank of cylinders).
The Spyder/356/904 4-cam engine is a double overhead cam engine (1x intake cam + 1x exhaust cam per bank of cylinders).

I guess I should explain myself. I saw, on the intranet, Becks 904 and as I visited again I noticed it was a 6. And this has what to do with a real 904? I have no clue. His website does not provide a price. I guess if I have to ask......I did get excited for a bit. Anyway, thats my story. I need a life.

I have been talking with Chuck about his 904. Base price is $50k for the kit, plus driveline. He figured about $75k done with a nicely hopped up 911 setup in the chassis.
The factory also made a 904-6 IIRC.

Duh, confirm on the 904/6 from the factory. I have a framed print of the '65 LeMans finish, Linge's car crossing in 4th in a 904/6. Slaps head.

I have a great book titled,"Porsche 904 the truth and the ruours" by Philippe Olczyk & Mike Morris.
ISBN: 9952-8002-3-1
You might want to track down a copy for your self.

I have been to G and W in Waynesboro, VA and saw the 904 as well as a 550 spyder they used to have there and they were SICK. There are very few people in US any more that can set the gear mesh right for the complicated motor.
Cole Scogram was there at the time and I got to meet him briefly.
I have not seen the Beck 904, but will check it out. I used to have a Beck 550 Spyder with the 2160 cc stroker in it. Great car, very fast from 0-60 and very raw/old school. I wish I still had it.
I realistically topped out at about 70 mph because the RPM's got very high if you were going for any distance or cruising at high speed. 4.12 ring and pinion and a 4 speed. I was looking to go for a "freeway flier" with a 3.88 ring and pinion to get it down some, but then sold it.
