Guys, don't you know it's wrong to make fun of someone that something's wrong with?

I like the tail though. Drop a zero from the opening bid & I'd probably pull the trigger.

...all that and a super-rare "manganese" engine case - wow.

Clive, I ended up subbing the whole thing out. I was going to drop everything & just bring the trans for rebuild, got quotes for $3-$4k for a rebuild of the trans, then one for "about $3k" for clutch & trans, labor complete; the total job ended up being $5500, but the clutch / trans / clutch-trans-labor was closer to $3500. I also had them do a ride height tweak, align & corner balance, CVs, oil lines replacement as they saw fit, brake flush, etc. while they had it. I tossed in a new clutch cable I had on the shelf & they installed that while in there.

I have a couple of niggling little things (clutch cable needs fine-tuning as the pedal comes up 3/4 way up, pauses, then sometimes "clinks" into place all the way up - helper spring side adjust I think; tach is dropping off now & sometimes about 3/4-7/8 of actual RPMs), etc.

Otherwise, I HIGHLY recommend the Sachs Power Clutch - light, revs fast, nice. I didn't realize how heavy the clutch was pedal-wise either, it's nice & light again. Off the line 1st gear accel is awesome - noticeably quicker.

Engine's going to have to come down & get pulled apart sometime soon anyway, I have some oil leakage on the left side cylinders now, but power numbers are still good, so I'll just watch what's what over the summer.

Thanks for askin', now back to your regularly-scheduled eBay bashin'

You bet. They made 3,388 911S coupes for the US that year but only one SC - this one. Wow. That is scary rare.

why does the ficus tree look better than the motor? Why is the motor on the ground? It's not even on the pallet!

I know alot of 911 where purchased with coke money in Florida, but this car looks like it fell victum to the war on drugs. It looks like funding ran out mid build.
