Buy a new one,not that hard to replace,I believe it is called a door stay arm or door restraint,to my knowledge the one end bolts to the door and the other end bolts to the front pillar.Good luck <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

Make sure the sheet metal around where the stay connects to the door isn't damaged, otherwise get the door stay reinforcing kit along with a new stay (Pelican sells the kit).

Good luck, and do the repair before the door is damaged. Estimate to repair my damaged door from the same problem was $700 (internal welding...all labor!)

On mine, the sheet metal around the passenger door stay was damaged. The way I found out about it was as I approached the passenger side of the car one day, I noticed a door ding, only from the inside out. After pulling off inside upholstry, I found that the sheet metal around the door stay had been ripped away and that the end of the stay had banged into the inside of the door panel...ugh! Dent Extractors can take care of the ding, but I hadn't yet researched the fix, so thanks AZ for the heads up. Don't suppose you've got $700 rolling up hill for a follow P car driver....
