Post Fuchs "stained"?

I had this on the tire/wheel board, but no response...

I have stock 16" Fuchs which were the traditional black painted center section and polished/anodized rim. I had them media blasted (like sandblasting but with plastic beads--less abrasive)...the paint came off like a champ, but down in the recesses there is a green tint to the metal, like the color your skin would turn if you wore a cheap bracelet? I have tried steel wool/polishing compound to no avail. What, if anything can get this off, as I was hoping to just polish the entire wheel instead of repainting. Thanks for any input.

You might take a look at two articles on wheel care <a href="http://www.carcarespecialties.com/damaged_wheels.html" target="_blank">here</a> and <a href="http://www.carcarespecialties.com/wheel_care.html" target="_blank">here.</a> I haven't read them for awhile but I recall discussion on how to get stains off the wheel.

Thanks Bill, but the articles didn't comment on this problem. I have attached a pic of one of the wheels for reference:

either that, or the green is the primer layer that didn't fully come off...

You might try sending that photo and an explaination to the Wheel Enhancement website. I can't imagine they wouldn't know what was going on, they probable see hundreds of Fuchs a year.

Just a thought.

It sounds pretty hack to me, but I've read some postings etc that recommend oven cleaner to remove anodized finish? Any experiences there?
