Post Sourcing Parts in Europe

I am planning a top-end rebuild, piston/cylinder change to Euro compression specs, installing a cat bypass and a few other modifications to my stock '87 Carrera (US model). I live in Switzerland and have been unable to find comparable parts prices to the ones that are offered by the U.S. mail order houses (Pelican, etc.) Does anyone know of European based parts suppliers who offer competitive prices? Specifically, I'm interested in the Fabspeed cat-bypass and the Mahle piston/cylinder (Nickasil)set.

Thanks

Have you looked at the FVD and Cargraphics Catalogs? Two German companies with lots of great products.

The German eBay page: <a href="http://listings.ebay.de/aw/plistings/list/category10408/index.html" target="_blank">http://listings.ebay.de/aw/plistings/list/category10408/index.html</a>

They have awesome stuff at great prices.

Also try Miegel in Buxtehude, Germany at:

Cool

Two more sources I can think of:

1.- British (UK)
<a href="http://www.design911.co.uk/index.htm" target="_blank">http://www.design911.co.uk/index.htm</a>
<a href="http://www.porscha.co.uk/" target="_blank">http://www.porscha.co.uk/</a>

2.- French. Jean Busser. He doesn´t have a website, but has EVERYTHING that could be needed for any year. If you call him up, he´ll send you a pretty good catalogue for free. His number is 00 33 1 41 40 00 00 00, Fax: 00 33 1 41 40 07 81

Good luck

Dear Michael,
When in Rome. If you want to install US manufactured parts you will have to purchase them direct from the US and pay the taxes. Join PCA-GR they will be able to help out. For purchasing the European parts (for which I suggest great care when doing so because not everything is compatible) you will normally have to go through a dealer. Here in Switzerland I would recommend you contact AMAG in Buchs or City Garage-Porsche in St Gallen. Remember anything you import into Switzerland you will have to pax taxes on.
Now if you are down Lausanne way I highly recommend you drop in on Meca Components de Siebenthal, Marc Atelier mécanique, La Rosaire 5 1123 Aclens Switzerland Tél. 41(0) 21 869 80 34
He is the man that I know who knows everything you will need to do. He is also a very nice exhaust person. His shop is normally loaded with everything from his rental 964 Race Cars to GT-2 racers and everything inbetween and a big boat sometimes as well. He has more in his junkpiles that most people have in stock.
We have taken a couple of rennlisters down to see his place before.
Ciao,
Adrian

Dear Michael,

During restoration of my 2.4S I used the following suppliers

911 Teile Versand
Postfach 914
72658 Bempflingen
Fax +49 7123 3529
(very good price and quality for engine components), fast shipment to Italy

Sportwagen Eckert
Neuburg an der Donau
Fax +49 8431 42174
(generally very low prices, also used parts, doing 356 and 911), shipment slower due to Deutsche Post slow service to Milan, Italy

These are other addresses, but I never used them:

<a href="http://www.mittelmotor.de" target="_blank">www.mittelmotor.de</a>

FVD GmbH (www.automotion.com german representative).
I contacted them twice by phone and Email but I never got reply and obviously they are not interested in classic porsche maintenance
FAX +49-7665-9899-20

Good saving and good luck with the engine update

Andreas
