Post Where to buy an SC headliner?

Does anybody know where I might be able to find a new headliner for my 79SC [with sunroof]?

actually, the one in the car was sprayed black and I really hate the way it looks. The worst part is the overspray on the dome lights and the mirror on the sun visor.

A new liner is a bit more than I expected. I thought I saw one in a catalog for liek 54 bucks or so, but the liners on those sites are around 100.

I've seen them too that didn't turn out to good with a spray job.
It just takes a lot of prep and skill with spraying. I removed my dome lights. And the factory mirror is plastic and I got some solvent on it and it was history. So I went to local glass shop and had them cut me a mirror to put over the old one. I think I used that two way tape to hold it in place. Anyway that turned out to be an upgrade, looks great and it's a real glass mirror.
The reason I went this route was cost, and the job involved in replacing the headliner (ie taking the glass out)
If you do go this route it would be a good time to replace the windshield and rubber gaskets.

Installing a headliner is a nightmare. You will typically pay $50 for the liner, and as much as $300 to have someone install it, which involves removing front and rear glass, as well as the door seals.

My 79 has a stone chip in the windshield anyway...I can't believe it requires that much work to change out!

In The Book 101 Projects for your Porsche headliner replacement is project #68 and says, "it's one of the most difficult and complex projects in the book"
Sounds like a challenge

How do you go about spraying a headliner? my 82' has a cigarette smoke, stained, white one, which is also damaged beneath the roof aerial fitting, and after looking at the amount of work needed to replace it (ie; a lot)I read here that some have simply been sprayed. is this viable in black, or will it just look terrible?
