It's supposed to fit all Targas from '89 to '93. I'll hold me breath until my replacement arrives, but I hope my research holds true.

Hope it works out for you.

Holy crap.
I might have to reconsider this Targa thought I have kicking around...and why would anyone let one go for 1K? Other than the obvious POS reason.

Default Targa Top Damaged ! 911 (964)

Hi Joe & all,

Would you believe the same thing happened to me 2 days ago here in South Australia, where I forgot to latch my Targa Top down and drove off in my 964 series (91 model) Carrera C2 Targa (Gunmetal Grey).

Top flew off, and got run over by a car as i was frantically trying to retrieve it .

Broken Left hand pivot joint, sheared right off, and slghtly bent front frame bar

What a blooper, and I was amazed to read of the same thing happening to Joe here 4 years ago !

Well, since mine is a 964, I am happy to buy your 964 Targa Top from you if it does not fit your car (89 series ?) and thus allowing you to source a proper one.

Let me know
Gurns

Hello Gurney,

Sorry to learn about your targa top disaster. I know how this incident can make you feel, as my stomach still churns a bit whenever I remember the day that happened to me. The used 964 replacement top I purchased fit perfectly on my '89 Carrera and was still in use last year when I sold my car to a fellow in Arizona. Obviously I cannot help you, but there are numerous Porsche wrecking yards here in the States that should be able to supply you with a top at a reasonable price. Good luck!

$14k? That's insane! That's more than I paid for my 84 Carrera Targa, including the top!

Somebody like Rennspd should be making "racing tops" for $2k. Smoked Lexan, titanium fasteners, silicone rubber gaskets.....Hmmmm, where did I put that CAD program?
