Absolutely right - we could not get many of our customer's cars hot enough to top up the oil when it was less than 50 degrees F outside, hence the blanket method.

I switched from m1 to bp today. It went well. I used up the leftover 2 quarts of m1 i had from last year and the rest with bp. Now iv just got to figure out what keeps killing my new optima

Same here. In the fall, I drove it for 30 minutes - mixed highway & high revving street & it still wouldn't open the thermostat. I finally gave up & just changed it.

The blanket method sounds like the thing to do. Thanks Pete. I'll switch to Brad Penn this weekend.
