Post Ticking Sound Under Dash?

Looked (and rejected) another SC today (1980). Noted a strange ticking sound coming from under the dash, just behind the glove box **** area. Sounded like a turn signal. Would not stop, even with key out.
Might this be related to the tach doing crazy jumps when the right turn signal was flipped on?
Just curious now, but any ideas?

There's not much back there, but it might be the power antenna trying to come down, and it's teeth are stripped. The noise just may be transmitting back there.

As of the jumping tach, thinking it's possibly a major ground going bad , or the battery is starting to go south and it's not holding voltage.

Either way, I wouldn't be too scared of those issues.
