Gordon,
You can edit the name of the dealer from your posts and I can too if you would like. Most people that walk in there are not going to get past the 600HP carrera GT that has sold and is on it's way back to germany. I am going to get to work on downloading the pictures I took. If you would like them via Email I can try that. I have a new ISP and don't yet have it all set up, but we can try.
EDIT: my wife just called and I gotta rescue a friend. I'll be back. enjoy the avatar. that's your car.

Douglas,
Thanks for the second batch of photos - they are very clear. Engine bay looks very tidy. Hope you didn't spend too much time wrestling photoshop. I'll keep you posted with the results of the PPI when I get it sorted.

gordon, where exactly is Muscat? I looked at Google and got an image of a city by water. I'm an idiot, what can I say.
EDIT: I found it...capital city of Oman
Coordinates: 23°36′31″N 58°35′31″E / 23.60861, 58.59194

Muscat is the capital of Oman. Oman is on the eastern end of the Arabian peninsula next to Saudi and teh United Arab Emirates, with a coastline running from the Straits of Hormuz (entrance to the Arabian Gulf), down to the Indian Ocean. Muscat is indeed on the coast, in fact I can see the Strait of Oman from my home.

...good new. Brian (the salesman I talked with) said he would knock the cost of the door pocket replacement off the asking price.

kusee, I'll trade you cars, how's that?
I think I wanted to do this because a while back red67 was looking at a car here in California that he wanted to ship unseen to Denmark. I went and looked and it was a $30,000 pile of rust. I didn't want to see that happen again. I'm not an expert, but I would take this targa home in a second.

Here's something I learned after the fact (buying my 911 cab in Kansas City). Take off the front turn signal side lenses (orange lenses) and check the reflectors. The reflectors in my set were all corroded which may give you a good indication of the history / weather exposure. Everything else was clean. I also look under the rubber trim that runs under the doors - check toward the end of the doors before the rear wheel well to see if the factory bar code label is there. I try to check as many panels as possible for the UPC labels as that will give me a good idea of what has been replaced or painted over - assuming you are being told that the paint is original (as was the case with my 89 911).
