You remember the Ontario Motor Speedway? That place would shake the house when I was a kid. In high school I had a '64 baracuda and my autoshop teacher had a 426 hemi dart (so you know I was teacher's pet) We would go out to Riverside and dragrace the dart. I got to change the plugs between each run. What a thrill for a 17 year old kid. I do get to see all the big boy trucks at the Doubletree hotel when I go to work in the morning. I should probebly get around to that.

RAIN? Oh, no!
Oh yeah, I remember Ontario. I drove the infield road course in a few events, it and me didn't get along !
The track was absolutely flat, and I never did find landmarks for brake points at about half the corners. Looking back I guess that it was a good learning place for me, but I never got comfortable there - I guess I should have entered a drag race instead!

RIVERSIDE Raceway:: Anger, gurr, froth #%&*. Every time I drive by there I get bummed out. It has been a bunch of years and I don’t remember all of the track and the turn numbers, but the steel wall at the right hand corner at the end of the long straight is still vivid. I seized my Ducati at the end of the straight (full song). Fortunately I got the clutch pulled in as the back wheel was locking up and the speed wobble was starting. I did not hit the wall but 45 years later it is a bright spot in my questionable memory system.

Hah! The same wall (at Riverslide Raceway) that I almost hit with a car that I got seriously sideways in and got up in the marbles with - whew, close one! Of course, had I hit, and if you would have hit, I know which one of us would have been much worse off. I've watched the big bikes run at Willow a few times - those guys are certifiable !

having blown up my chevy again, I'm gonna go get some 100 octane in the 911, drive out to Fontana, and see what I can see. Relax, I go to the chevron across the street and blend it down a bit.

Ernie: Don't '71 Hemi-Cudas go for a few bucks these days? One of my friends had one (we called it the purple people eater); that car was rolling, well, I won't go there...but oh my goodness it was fast! I had a 390 Mustang w/4-speed, it wouldn't even stay close to the Cuda. Actually, another friend's '67 396 SS Camaro, special-ordered with 425 hp, wouldn't either! Can you imagine these cars crossing the block at Barrett-Jackson, shortly after which we would all be on a chartered jet heading for Maui!

""do you guys need a room? Oh wait, it's in that one called off topic""
Bro, it has been raining in sunny southern california. This keeps us out from under foot of the women folk. Have some compassion for the poor girls and forgive us for having a good time, in an inappropriate manner. But, it is good to have a watchful eye on the racing team. thanks
