Default spare tire

what spare wheel/tire should i have on my 84 TL car?
15" or 16"
the road wheels are 16" but the spare is a steel 15" (it has been replaced sometime in the past because the rim is dated a few years earlier than my car)
i have never used/tried it but somone told me that the 15" wont clear the TL brakes

is he right and i need a 16" or is what i have gonna work?

I believe the 16" rim should be on the TL. The Turbo brakes require a larger rim than 15". I suggest you try putting it on the car and see for yourself. I'd bet it won't fit...."not enough clearance".

The only way to be sure is try it. My track car is up on jacks right now with the wheels off. It is a 78SC with steel turbo flares and 930 brakes. I just put the 15" space saver on it and it clears the calipers.

Cheers
