I will be looking at (to purchase) a 1982 Targa said to be a European model. Is this good bad or indifferent.
In my last posting I asked what the 0 - 60 stats of the early 80's Targa. I am a novice.I guess what I should have asked is what are the performance stats..
top speed, 0-30 30-60 times etc. 60 - 0 breaking time or is this something that is not available?
Or is it a fact that Porsche owners do not need anything to brag about...ownership being enough.

Euro models had higher horsepower (204 HP vs 180 for US models) due to higher compression and I believe lack of emissions equipment.
There is some good reading on 911SC's here:

This is the performance section of a road test from the August 1980 issue of "Car and Driver"

The whole article, in a 1.7MB Adobe Acrobat file can be found <a href="http://members.rennlist.com/emcon5/cd-80sc.pdf" target="_blank">Here.</a>
I would like to give credit to the person who scanned it, but I found it on the web somewhere, and can't remember where.
Hope this helps,
Tom

21.1 gal fuel capacity and 13 quarts of oil? When the tank is dry I can only get 16 gallons in, and I have never used more that 10.5 quarts of oil when changing the oil with the Carerra oil cooler up front. Of course mine is a 78, so it may be different.

pbs911, there is a few quarts of oil left in the system when you drain the crankcase and oil tank. The 13 quarts specified is TOTAL capacity, again, you have a bit left in the system when you drain it out.
I find that I only have to put 10 quarts in my C2 once it's drained...but I don't have an engine oil cooler either, just the front mount...that's how they did the 3.6 cars.
Just thought I'd chime in with an "FYI".
