Default '89 25th Anniv SW needed

hey folks
I have a customer with a 25th Anniversary Edition car with an aftermarket MOMO steering wheel. He's putting the car back to original, but I'm having a problem locating the steering wheel in Silk Grey... I could have one recovered but I'd still need a horn pad
if anyone has a source for a really nice Silk grey wheel and or horn pad let me know, I'd be grateful
just pm me..

TIA
Rixter

Sub'd,..as I have a '89, S.A. Edition. I do know the P.O. had the steering wheel "redone".....but it's black,..all of it,..the horn pad and wheel (stitching, too). Are you saying this edition came with silk gray steering wheels? Very curious,....

Best!

Thanks!

Are there any other 89 owners who can attest to this steering wheel being silk gray?

I have a 25th Anniversary Special Edition (SA), sales brochure that clearly shows the silk gray steering wheel as well as the shift **** (among other things).

The PO of my 89 replaced the wheel with a 930S style wheel.

I would love to have a silk gray wheel (although I wouldn't actually use it - keeping it clean would be a nightmare).

I think your best bet would be to have one re-covered.

Let us know what you do (along with the cost).

I also have an '89 SA. Its all stock and original. Yes...the steering wheel is all silk gray. If you search under "Found my Porsche need opinions" page 5 there are some pictures of my SA right after I bought it. Clear picture of the steering wheel.

As I understand it, there were SA cars with both black and gray interiors.

Paul,

Maybe you're thinking about the exterior colors. The brochure states there are 240 coupes in silver metallic paint and 60 coupes in satin black metallic paint.

Here is a portion of the interior description from the brochure.
**************************************************
"The 25th Anniversary Special Edition's unique interior trim features silk grey supple leather seat upholstery, with black accent seat piping, and silk grey velour carpeting. The steering wheel, knee bar and shift **** are also covered in silk grey leather.... A Porsche Exclusive special stitched leather console in silk grey houses an outside temperature gauge and a cassette or CD holder. The shifter features a leather boot and silk grey leather ****. Shortened shift lever is also standard."
**************************************************

As an aside, in reading the brochure, I notice there is no reference to "SA", or "Silver Anniversary" anywhere in the brochure. Only "Anniversary Special Edition".

Hey no correction here, we're just sharing info.

It was your original post that piqued my interest in SA's.

And I thank you for that!

Anniversary Edition was 88, right? 89 was SA Edition. I think this was beat to death in some previous threads...

Thanks for all of the replies.
