hey fellas maybe you could help me out with this.
i posted on earlysregistry also but no one who knows has bitten yet...

i recently impulse bought a 911 rainshield.
in b.johnson's 'a restorers guide to authenticity' theres no mention of them except a different factory kind for an early 912.

so whats the story with these? are they aftermarket - and do they serve any purpose whatsoever? seems to direct water TO the electrics and distributor if anything.


another thing i noticed is that some friends cars with rainshields have a screw hole where i don't. do later models have a hole here?

mines a 911 69T.
