I'm about to replace the a front seatbelt on my 84 930, , and don't want to destroy anything. So before I try to force something, can the panel covering the seatbelt roller be removed without removing the rear seat?

Yes. You must remove the rear panel(rear parcel tray), then the top trim above the panel covering the seat belt retractor. Then that panel lifts up at the rear and then it should come out.

Mind if I ask where you located replacement belts? I'm aware of a couple options that have been discussed around here in the past, but I'm wondering if more options have become available because it is one of the things my 84 needs to have done if I keep it.
Thanks,

Dan
I needed to replace one, bought a really good used belt (looks New) thru dearlydeparted911.com I don't know if you'll want to go this way, but it worked for me. Found this dealer on this board.
