A bike. My first car was a -62 356B T6. It was twelve years old and the only interesting car I could find for less than 150$ that week. I had just got my driving license and wanted a car of my own really really bad. Most of my friends thougth that I've totally lost it - buying such an old heap of ****... Well it got me bitten badly by the P-bug, and I haven't recovered yet.

Currently is there a -74 Carrera ROW 2.7 MFI and a -54 356 1500 N in the garage.

Cheers!
Sven

I'm 36 years old, but my list of cars before (and currently with) my 911 seems short in comparison to most of you:

1993 Mazda RX-7 3rd gen (cuurent)
1988 Mazda 323 GT
1981 Mazda GLC
1994 Honda VFR 750 (motorcycle)

Hey congrats! SCs are truly special cars. When I was 10, my father told me to "start saving" b/c he was not going to buy me a car when I got my license. When I turned 16, he surprised me by giving me the keys to our old, hand-me-down 1987 Blue Dodge Caravan with woodwork and 100K on the odometer. Ah, was I the popular one with the ladies in high school! Not exactly. The college years turned out okay as the car was used to haul large groups of testosterone-filled frat guys around the bar scene in Fells Point MD looking to score. Lucky for me, I did save my money from age 10 on and purchased a '79SC Targa the summer after my freshman year of college. Life got much easier in college during the spring. I have had a Porsche in the garage ever since.

It's kind of funny, but I miss that Caravan. It was so damn reliable and could haul a TON of things! Now with a family, I am a bit tempted to get one... If Porsche only made a minivan. Hmmm.

Well, my first car was a 914 when I was 16. But my first non-car was my Dad's 1984 VW GTI which might be my favorite car of all time!!!!!!!! Just a blast to drive and it had so much personality.

Porsche too expensive. Sounds like your 1978 SC costs less than your 400 hp VW.

Welcome and congrats on the car.

Mine's a 78, too.
