Hood Shocks - What to expect??

Well, I just installed my hood shocks, and it took me about 10 minutes. As per everyones suggestion, the passenger side was easy, but luck for me, the last person who owned the car left the lower clip off the pin on the drivers side, so installation was a sinch. When The pressure of the shock seems to be enough to keep the pin in place without the clip.

I was told many years ago that the secret to keeping the hood shocks working for years was to never move the hood up & down quickly. I'v followed that recommendation and never had a problem. i get 10-12 years out of a set.
