Default Antennae Booster

I had my new windshield put in this past week. The old one cracked when the deer went through it. The one i had did not have the antennae imbedded in it, the new one does. I hooked everything up, but still no radio. I found a small wire coming off the antennae cable close to the radio under the dash. What does it got to? Is there supposed to be power to it or grounded? Any ideas why i would not have sound now that I have an antennae?

Thanks,

Not sure but I know some radios use the antenna for ground. Also most antennas need a "ground plane " anyway so I would ground it and see what happens.

That small wire tied into the antenna cable is the amplifier wire. It comes from the antenna amplifier normally found on the inside of the RH guard in the trunk. If you have an after market stereo it should be hooked up to the wire normally used for the power antenna. It is shown quite clearly in Bently's.
Hope this helps.

Hey, thanks for the help. Great Info. I had found a couple of threads on this but none as good as the one you pointed me too.

Thanks again.
