hi all,
dont really know the proper specs on these older 911's and this one's been allegedly done over considerably, but the color and body intrigue me, plus its pretty local, and i am currently porsche-less btw.
any insights appreciated.
thanks , john.

ah, Bay Ridge, Brooklyn ... the home of 'Guido', in case you didn't get it from the description (ie; "a babe magnet, trust me")
not that there's anything wrong with that (hey, I'M from Brooklyn!)

Pretty scary car. Bound to be a real Flexi-Flyer with massive amounts of cowl shake. But sure to be a power "haus" with all the right things done to that V6. The only thing worse than a pre-'81 Targa converted to a Cabrio is the same car converted to a wide body Cabrio! It's also comforting to know that it has a **very important" airbox pop-off valve, and don't forget about those head stud "TimeSerts." Sheeeesh...

The turbo body style was being made by Porsche in 1977, but I don't think Porsche made the "turbo-Look" (everything turbo except the engine) until 1979 which they did based on the enregy crisis of the time. Turbo versions were not shipped to the US for the next couple of years as a result. My guess is that this one has been converted to the turbo-look after the fact.
I drive a '78 after-market "turbo-look". Mine was converted in 1989 with all genuine Porsche parts. It used to be a white Targa and now looks like a 1989 turbo cab in black. If it's done correctly, you can tell it from the original. I have attached a picture. Mine also has an upgraded engine from an '86.
